Anxiety

Reduce Anxiety with Hypnotherapy.*

Most of us will experience anxiety of some kind at some point in our lives.  For lots of people, the anxiety goes away when the cause has been resolved.  For others, anxiety can develop into a generalised feeling that has a huge impact on the quality of life.

If you are suffering from ongoing anxiety, you are probably living with feelings that range between uncomfortable unease through to the devastating effects of fear. Living with anxiety means that you are not free to live your life fully.

Life limiting feelings of anxiety and uncertainty can become a thing of the past for you.

Using the combination of hypnotherapy and solid psychotherapy skills, many people quickly notice that they feel more at ease and relaxed.*  As part of the treatment, you will also receive important information about anxiety and learn powerful strategies that will enable you to maintain the benefits of the treatment.

If you would like to be free from fearful uneasy thoughts and feelings and would like to improve the quality of your life, call me to arrange your free first consultation.  If you are not able to get to my office you can arrange to have a Skype or Facetime session from your own home.

More about Anxiety

We all have the ability to become anxious from time to time– it’s a natural human response and is part of our survival mechanism. Without the ability to feel anxious we would’nt be able to sense a potential threat and take action to keep us safe. (Fight/flight).  Anxiety is also an inbuilt safety mechanism that prevents us from taking unnecessary risks.

If left untreated, anxiety has a cumulative effect over time as the stress hormones in the body continually rise. This can lead to more debilitating intrusive conditions such as OCD or Panic Attacks. When someone is experiencing anxiety in an intrusive or inappropriate way, it is time to seek help.

Although it is designed to serve a useful purpose, many people find that they are living with a constant sense of unease and uncertainty and these feelings result in an inability to live life to the full because they only feel at ease when they stay with what they know.

For others, high anxiety can dominate daily life with overpowering, disabling conditions such as Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD), Phobias or regular Panic Attacks.

So, anxiety takes many forms.

  • It can be experienced as extreme on-going stress or general apprehension, leading to a feeling of being overwhelmed by simple situations.
  • It may take the form of Social Phobias, preventing the sufferer from making enjoyable social connections or achieving promotion in the workplace.
  • OCD can enslave a sufferer with obsessions and compulsions that dominate daily life as they attempt to reduce high anxiety with rituals.
  • Anxiety can be with something specific, like a phobia or maybe just a generalised feeling that that hangs around and seems to attach itself to every thought, making you to feel worried or disempowered.
